Honestly, I wish people knew that being a mensch is always better than not, and that your public servants are genuinely interested in making things work, making your life reasonably good. We’re not a genie in a lamp, or a Zoltar wish granting machine, but we try to do right by you every day.

Also, that government is hard. The reason people who want money go elsewhere is bc is is so. gd. hard. We labor under ridiculously stupid resource constraints and the general public’s ignorance of scale. Big numbers in proportion to one’s personal income sound insane.

We’re all worried. They’re not alone. We’re worried bc we love our country, our communities and our families and friends. And that’s what going to get us through. It’s especially important to get out of our homes and out of our comfort zones and have positive interactions with others on purpose.
