Pretty sure random trade war stuff (including with countries with goods critical for housing development) and economic uncertainty are going to kill a lot of interesting in building in high cost cities with complicated permitting processes. :/

Technically the trade war stuff was likely not happening when most of those permits would have been filed but I'm pretty sure companies with sensible leaders would see election results and be worried.

With commercial real estate cheaper to buy up it makes sense VC will turn to rehabbing empty commercial space in Seattle into ick rental housing since they don’t want to build in new HVAC or balconies into new-build accessible housing. Won’t be as nice as the rehabbed space in the DMV-ALX region
