Powerful protest led by undocumented immigrants today in Seattle at gederal building. Undocumented and unafraid! There are no illegals on stolen land! Chinga la migra! People there of all nationalities standing together as one.

Hey: If you made it through the week, and you tried to do some things to help other people — large or small — where you could, and you need to hear it, I’m here to tell you thank you. Get some rest. Figure out today, then figure out tomorrow.

Just wrote Mayor Bruce Harrell and City Attorney Ann Davison about this. You can too. Email addresses: [email protected], [email protected]

Public comment is now open for passport gender marker changes. You can go here to go to each of the three proposed passport rules, and submit comment. My suggestion: be unique, argue for trans-inclusive policies, against the constitutionality of the changes, etc. www.reddit.com/r/Passports/...

NEW UPDATE to Some Actions That Are Not Protesting or Voting. - a few people have written to me to ask if I could include HEADINGS and I have done so. Also added a few more ideas. docs.google.com/document/d/1...

Washington's Parking Reform and Modernization Act, capping parking mandates at 0.5 per unit in and exempting uses including senior & affordable housing and alcohol-related businesses from all mandates in cities over 20,000, just passed the state Senate 40-8. www.theurbanist.org/2025/02/06/p...

Not sure how it makes it thru the #waleg session gauntlet since it's introduced so late, but Senator Saldaña has introduced a bill to give hiring preference in state work to fired federal workers. app.leg.wa.gov/billsummary/...

Ta-Nehisi Coates in Seattle about the Democratic Party in this moment: “If you can’t stand up against genocide, why should I believe you can stand up for democracy?”

So happy my colleague @ceceliablack.bsky.social is leading the conversation around wheelchair accessible housing, density and nondriver access 👇

For Washington state folks: it's not too late to become a 350 Civic Action Team to get legislative alerts twice a week -- one goes out Wednesday and the other is Friday. Sign up here: www.350wa.org/cat #waleg

This commission statement refers to people with Autism, ADHD, asthma, auto-immune disease, and chronic illness as a “dire threat to the American people and our way of life”. This is a manifesto against disability. This is the language of eugenics.

Are you EFFING KIDDING me, @adamsmith.house.gov? THOSE are your options? There's no text box on that form, so I'll tell you here: the correct answer is you should FIGHT LIKE HELL. What are you even doing in office, if you're going to let a coup happen on your watch?

Since Bruce Harrell has been at the helm. Bicycle Weekends has almost entirely eroded. I would not be shocked if he kills the program this year.

Things I've done this weekend: - yesterday helped a friend with a data project to help us better advocate for changes to make our city more inclusive - helped to organize and then today help provide food to out congregational meeting so we could vote on how to sell land to become housing.

Two days later and I'm still angry Rep. Adam Smith's office sent me an email with this frame of the unconstitutional freezing of congressional appropriations. If my own members of Congress think this way, how can I trust they will do anything at all? Yes I have written his office.

Even Seattle’s reddit gets that hiring Dow as ST CEO would be a gross abuse of power and violation of basic ethics www.reddit.com/r/Seattle/s/...
