People trying to protect their neighbors are not the problem. The fact that some of you are thinking that way reflects a level of psychological capture & submission to fascism that you should interrogate. If they want an "excuse" to do something, they'll create one. The good guys aren't the problem.

It's extraordinary how brutal police are willing to be, the lengths to which they are willing to go, the internal solidarity they are willing to show, in order to deliver to U.S. citizens—the protection of whom is their ostensible jobs—the clear message, "we are at war with you."

Repost via the IMEU: Today is the beginning of Eid al-Adha, one of the most important holidays for Muslims. The holiday is usually observed by gathering with community in prayer, sharing a large meal, and donating to those in need.

Everything is Tuberculosis by John Green is very good. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Everyth...

I know there was a lot going on in American politics today, but I wanted to take a moment to highlight how much I admire the work that Greta Thunberg and the Freedom Flotilla are doing. They're sailing an aid ship across the Mediterranean to Gaza right now, despite lacking Israeli permission.

The Seattle Times published my letter: Senator Murray and other Democrats have contributed to this lawless moment by not taking action on the genocide in Gaza and supporting demonization of student and other protestors. www.seattletimes.com/opinion/lett... #Gaza #genocide #uspol #UnitedStates

My good friend has given so much of themselves to communities in WA State and made our world better. Now their world is kind of falling apart and it’s time to give back. If you want to know more about this fundraiser or ChrisTiana’s situation please let me know.

This question & answers are so weird. All new developments need affordable housing? What about someone turning an old single family home into a mcmansion? What if it would make a 4 unit project economically impossible given current regulation & finance systems?

Sound Transit is not by regional governmental standards GREAT at public outreach but the vast majority of government work happens with barely any outreach at all and a lot of it is thru intent or disinterest opaque and limited. ST does SO MUCH by comparison to most government projects.

The way nobody can drive well anymore because of GPS — not just atrophied turn-by-turn navigation, but the way ppl no longer know the layouts of their town or the names of roads or what to do when the map doesn’t match the terrain — that’s what genAI is doing to communication skills and literacy

In Gaza, amid “widespread injuries + illness combined with acute malnutrition, dehydration, poor sanitation & growing waterborne disease, deaths will soon accelerate” & “will not be prevented by token + piecemeal deliveries of food parcels,” dozens of NGOs argue today. www.hi-us.org/sn_uploads/d...

I've been frustrated at Washington politcians overly focused on electrification as a climate solution. Sure the buses should run on clean energy. But reliable frequent service that converts car trips to transit trips is the path to long term sustainability.

Yesterday, for the first time since 2020, King County discussed activating its dormant Transportation Benefit District, and started considering a 0.1% sales tax increase that would fund county roads and Metro transit. www.theurbanist.org/2025/06/03/k...
