But yeah, as a piece of Star Trek content, it was pretty bad, maybe the worst. The story made no sense. I would much rather have had more seasons of Lower Decks with that money.
That is to say, it really has to be deserved.
My reaction to the "Star Trek is too woke" people has always been that if anything modern Trek is less woke than ever and this introduction and expansion of a clandestine group necessary to the federation seems indicative of that.
Now they have their own movie😕

The NX-01 (decomissioned), on route to its anniversary fly by, vanishes.
Former Federation President Archer goes on one last mission - his crew needs him.
Someone shadowy is trying very hard to ensure that the Enterprise won't be remembered by history...
I love Michelle Yeoh.
It was an attempt at trying something new and exploring a different aspect of the setting & franchise and I appreciate the attempt.
(It’s how we might get a Lower Decks movie from time to time, “Old Man Worf”, etc …)
I also have learned that Franchises can put out content I won't like. Disney, Marvel, DC, Trek, Star Wars or Dr Who.
And that's OK. 🖖
🖖🏻🤗🥂
If Star Trek is to continue another 30 years it must grow and evolve, and that takes bold experiments and new visions. I'm all for that.
Also, it benefits immensely from a second watching, when you already know the genre and the characters!
I'm definitely going to give it another go for completeness sake, but I just don't have any excitement left for it 😬
And I was thinking of cancelling Paramount+.
