I mean, to be fair, I floated it originally off my tbr list. I saw roman historical fiction and thought it'd be fitting. I didn't really know how it'd be going into it, and was actually feeling positive after the first chapter. The second chapter will be tough to recover from, though.

It was my first novel! Think of it as Learner Driver, first time driving. If I could rewrite it, I would. I've learned a ton since then.

I'm also:

40% through 'Wind and Truth' by Brandon Sanderson. Finally back to this one, and it's been great! Kinda unhappy about Shallan's development, but whatever.

12% through 'The Crescent Moon Tearoom' by Stacy Sivinski. Eh, cozy urban fantasy with witches. It's comfy, but not especially deep.
