It’s fucked that my greatest hope right now is that it goes so bad so quickly that it has a chilling effect on all the other far right bullshit taking place elsewhere.

That does seem to be happening in Canada - partially because we can see the chaos, partially because of the threats to the country's sovereignty. Conservative support has been collapsing over the last month, and they were pretty far up in the polls before that.
