Today turtle rock is also being graced by some sort of large bird I can't identify

Looks like my now 2nd favorite bird, the Great Blue Heron.

Blue Heron is my guess. I know some real birders will be here with knowledge soon, so I wanted to get my guess on the table first.

Great blue heron. There’s one that perches along the river as I ride to work in the mornings, and it always makes me appreciate life.
