My friends in health care & I speak the same language. Like, swap some of the buzz words out and we can finish each others' sentences.

The difference for me? The BS I put up with is often developmentally appropriate from kids. I would lose my mind if I had to tolerate it from adults, all the time!

It's not really the same sphere classroom/ER. I don't know what your classroom is like but I very very rarely have to deal with a stabbing, catheterisation, sucking chest wound or feculent vomiting. I get the time analogy and the 'everyone's punch bag' but I'm not sure it's really a huge comparison.
