Of course it is. How can it not be? It's good for mental health and thus physical health. It's been repeatedly shown to improve productivity. It reduces the commute, meaning less stress, less CO2 and less road building and repairing. Only authoritarians oppose it and we need far less of those.

Putting millions on the dole is removing them from supporting the economy. Hopefully, Musk has a plan to cover the loss because simply sacking workers is a very short-term effort to gain pennies. People on the dole are the opposite. Crime rates will soar.
