I think the daylong boycott is a cute, universal good, smart even.
But what makes boycotts STICK is a continuous effort to support alternatives and not just for 24hrs.
Its not a boycott if you shop at Target tomorrow.

Out the way, sure. But I can find ingredients and items I normally wouldnt.
Of course assuming it's even effective - it doesn't seem like too many people plan on participating right now.
Why fund fascism?

Its a cute idea. It's for a greater good. It's even clever.
But for many people, if they don't see genuine change right away, it won't mean much to them.
There should be more discussion on proactive, intentional, long-term action vs singular days.
If you continuously defeat the PURPOSE of these chains, THEN the boycott is successful.
I like Nilah's suggestion below because it trains you to go outside of your normal routine in smaller doses. Its alot harder to 100% boycott something you need.

Whoever came up with that idea doesn't know what a boycott is.
1) stop I to a Tesla dealership.
2)Test drive a car. 3)Sit down to sign to paperwork...then
4)simply get up and walk away as to recite "fuck Musk" and "this is a no buying day protest"!
#FUCKtesla
#FUCKmusk
#FUCKstarlink
#trump4JAIL
They are NOT the same thing.
Feb 28th is a Buy Nothing Day.
On a Buy Nothing Day you don't buy anything at all.
You simply spend no money for 24 hours.
