It was a decent magazine, based on accumulated experience of bathroom reading material. Still have a few copies that never left that space actually, heh.
On the one hand, Game Informer is back with all of the staff back. On the other hand, it's owned by a Web3 company. But whatever it is, it's a good thing people got their job back
Not a fan of how they've been resurrected by a blockchain company even if said company is allegedly taking a hands-off approach. Kinda seems like a matter of time before some stupid decisions are made...but then Gamestop themselves were not wise. Great to see that the employees have their jobs back.
Scratch that, they’re developers of Off The Grid, an NFT-based arena shooter that got involved with some possible DMCA abuse at critics a few years ago.
They otherwise seem like a legitimate studio, and their game isn’t terrible, just uninspired and runs poorly. Odd they picked up GI.
Please tell me that offering Dark Mode as a pre-order exclusive is a tongue-in-cheek reference to the shitty industry standards and not a legitimate thing that will be locked away from future users...
its not a cost thing , its a free account , its just the dark/light mode toggle was built oddly that you can only access it on your account , its been that way for years since this version of the website rolled out. a shame they couldn't have ppl keep old logins but i get it was probably too tied up
additionally if you have a count of how many free users are happening to sign up it probably helps gauge intrests n form a plan related to selling actual subs
did you not get your refund? gamestop had to honor those but they made you initiate them yourself if i'm not mistaken . not the publication's fault it happened

I don’t see anything about web3. I am a little concerned they’re venture funded, however. Curious what the business model for GI will be here.

Hopefully before VCs slowly drain it of its value
Sorry but i want to see them say it in their personal accounts, i dont trust corporate words
