Have they said anything about how the console will handle downloaded games on SD cards? A thing I've been doing with my Steam Deck is buying dedicated SD cards for large games over 30GB. As long as the app isn't running you can just pop the card out and plug it back in to play

I might sound stupid but by transferring data from Switch to Switch 2 does it will erase Switch 1 data or it just copy the data to the Switch 2? I want to anticipate, so that’s why I ask. ( I own a lot of digital games but I wonder if they will all compatible)

If it’s anything like the system transfer on Switch 1, then yes, it will probably erase Switch 1 data after the transfer. The only game you’ll need an app for is Animal Crossing: New Horizons. When I switched from the regular to OLED, it was pretty smooth and everything was accounted for.

However, I try to get most of my games in physical form. I also have a Switch Online account for cloud saves just in case. I also have a micro SD card. Still, every game still had their save data including the big games like Smash Ultimate and Breath of the Wild.

I’m assuming the island app will be readily available on Switch 2. Just create your account and all that intro stuff after you get Switch 2, get the app, and then do the system transfer. Just use my words to get the ball rolling. Definitely double-check when the console comes out.

That sucks. At least they're not using a proprietary type like Sony tried with the PS Vita. It means Nintendo is serious about performance and loading times this time around, but not at the cost of forcing us to buy their own storage options, which is a good thing imo.
