I sort of liked it at first and then at episode 3 it really started just clicking. Great cast, Sterling Brown especially. Really hoping they show us the next chapter in that story.
It’s worth sticking with? I’m finding Ep2 really dragging. It’s just so, well, American. The silly macho lingo between agents, the briefly reasonable faceless billionaires who are then easily cowed by the dubiously named Sinatra… sigh.
The storytelling in the prologue of episode 8 was a miniature masterclass. And Sterling K Brown is such a wonderful lead. It slightly has Lost vibes, and I do think it will fall apart when stretched too far, but I loved the first season.
I always felt he unbalanced the ensemble in This is Us because he (and the actor playing his father) were so emotionally present and intense that they made the rest of the show look a bit wan by comparison. I’m really pleased to see him leading things.
I also enjoyed it quite a bit, as I'm a sucker for post-apocalyptic mystery box dramas, but they already wrapped up the core mystery and I'm concerned about expanding the circle in S2
I made the mistake of watching "The Day" episode just after Trump/ Vance/ Zelenskyy in the Oval Office. My brain has now fused the two together emotionally.
I thought first half of the season was slow plot wise but still good but second half was phenomenal and episode 7 was one of the best single episodes I've seen
