Aside from "But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability," do you know that SCOTUS says correct arithmetic, valid logic, and plain English understanding are not Amendment IX guarantees. In the transition from democracy to a U.S. oligarchy with a bought authoritarian leader, I expect nothing less from Alito, Thomas, Roberts, or the other three.
Having assisted in the creation of the oligarchy assuming command, they know, whatever they do (or have done) will bring no consequences.

I'm pretty sure that the CEO of the giant corporation I work for didn't personally call my references when they were in the process of hiring me for a comparatively low level job. Alito saying that's the only thing they talked about doesn't matter. The APPEARANCE of a conflict of interest matters!
