This Framework desktop is certainly a bit of a weird device, it's not entirely clear to me who it's actually being marketed towards. I don't think it's bad but I'm just kind of confused.

I'm not sure theyre making margin on the framework desktop at all, $1999 for a machine with 128Gb shared system memory over a 256bit bus is insanely competitive when the only other comparable systems in the market are all Apple Mac Minis and Studios.
Wait, there's a Framework Desktop?

Okay, so there actually is. To be honest I'm still burned on them because I bought a laptop kit off of them but it didn't even work so I had to return it (and the returns process took ages).
Framework should've just made a normal AM5 ITX board and then put CoreBoot or LibreBoot on it, if they're going to enter the prebuilt desktop business, using standard form factors as opposed to HP or Dell's proprietary nonsense, loading their boards with CoreBoot or LibreBoot would've been a good-
-selling point to differentiate them further from the aforementioned Dell or HP, and even to differentiate them from SIs like iBuyPower or CyberPower that just put together a system from whatever Asus, Asrock, MSI, or Gigabyte sells off the shelf, complete with the typically closed firmware-
I think its a mac mini/studio competitor with it being able to match the ram and all (128gb for highest spec), being able to address most of said ram to the gpu is pretty good for local AI stuff too
