the funny thing about thx is that its not actually a format or a specific system, its a certification.

As for RotJ, looks like it was Dolby 6 track stereo

1997 I moved to San Francisco and made a 3 min radio piece that included the THX Deep Note thinking it was a kind of “tribute.” It aired in morning drive and within 30 mins we got a Cease & Desist lol. 🤣 All these years later I’m working with the Atmos version legitimately.
