Did Trump literally claim the M S 1 3 added to the photo as notation was actually a tattoo? It's pretty clearly added to illustrate the admin's claims about what the tattoos are code for

The MS-13 claim comes from a 2019 police report citing an unnamed informant and Abrego’s Bulls cap. It didn’t hold up; he was protected from deportation by a Trump-appointed judge with an above-average denial rate. The cop was later indicted, pleaded guilty to misconduct and fired wapo.st/3YASCze

So basically: at the same time a DOJ lawyer was assuring a circuit court judge the Admin was not going to deport people that night, buses full of individuals were being driven to the airport, & the only reason those buses turned around was because SCOTUS stepped in. www.nbcnews.com/politics/imm...

NYT actually published this sentence, which asks us to take baseless moral panic bullshit seriously as a reasonable position. Supporters of the Holocaust considered Jews to be subhuman saboteurs of German society, too. So fucking what??

People are asking why these immigration agents are masked: Because they do not want their families and neighbors to see them behaving as fascists. This is why we should ID these kidnappers & make their lives miserable when they trying to have their own family time. They know they are WRONG.

Q: "How do you respond to Governor Newsom?" Sen. Van Hollen: "I think Americans are tired of elected officials or politicians who are all finger to the wind...Anybody who can't stand up for the Constitution and the right of due process doesn't deserve to lead."

None of this would be possible without evangilicals who are the rock solid base to all of this.

Another story of 1. Admin sends fascist order 2. Media reports on it 3. People are outraged, say no 4. Admin says “actually that order was a mistake” Lesson is defy fascist orders kslnewsradio.com/shows-podcas...

The fact that I know more about Katy Perry and Lauren Sánchez’s 11-minute space trip than I do about Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito’s decades-long crime spree shows exactly what is terribly wrong with today’s political mainstream media.

They are not part of normal discourse. BUT "Skew-T" diagrams that come from soundings w weather balloons are *irreplaceable* as guides to weather in general, dangerous weather in particular. Pilots use them for icing/clouds. Everyone else, for tornado/ derecho/ etc alerts. Now being cut. Insanity

Let me save you any angst: *everyone* choosing to work on a Harry Potter-based project has decided - or has management that has decided on their behalf - that the risk of angering trans people and our allies is worth the money they're getting in return. That's it.

1/2 Many people have already mentioned this, but just to rub it in: Let's start with terrible click-bait headline on this NYT piece. As always, no bylines or attribution for headlines, subheds, framing, or "social sell" — even though that is all most readers will ever see. Then...

The administration is misrepresenting documents that are publicly available. They are relying on people not bothering to read them, or purposely misreading them, and this is the media aiding in that cynical and anti-democratic task.

valid point

the buck stops over there

I think it needs to be established here is that when I and others call this regime and its supporters 'stupid' this is not a reference to any kind of innate intelligence libs have more of. it is that the modern conservative moment is openly, proudly incurious and ignorant about how *anything* works

So again, the logic here goes, the virus is not a naturally evolved phenomena but an incredibly dangerous man-created strain…against which you should take no precautions and do nothing to avoid getting because it’s just a cold

Maybe because our rapist president approves of rape?

Maybe I’m being overly critical but this feels like such a soft, passive headline. “Aw, we’re just going a different direction right now. Just switching it up a little bit away from those pesky quote unquote ‘human rights.’ Anyway! Who wants snacks?” www.npr.org/2025/04/18/n...

Ukraine is beating Russia—sinking their fleet without a navy, killing 800,000+ invaders, and holding the line for 3 years. Donald Trump wants to save Putin. He won’t say Russia is the aggressor. Let’s be clear: there’d be a cease-fire if Russia…stopped. adamkinzinger.substack.com/p/ukraine-is...

Worth recalling that this was the initial police statement about George Floyd:

John Roberts desperately wants to avoid having this fight and they're going to make him have it anyway, or be the latest and most prominent institution to cave and prostate themselves before Trump in publicly humiliating fashion make your choice, John

"Unlike other issues, Trump is polling OK on immigration" isn't a reason for Democrats to ignore that issue, but rather a reason for them to attack it head on. Public opinion can actually be moved, Democrats. And on this issue there's a lot to push back on.

let’s look back at what has happened so far Cory Booker giving a 25 hour speech: everyone loved it, raised his profile Van Hollen flies to El Salvador and meets Abrego Garcia: everyone loved it, raised his profile Schumer publicly caved: everyone hated that just a general note to Dems

If you're negotiating about what kinds of people the American SS is allowed to blackbag and whisk away to a foreign gulag, you've already lost

I think they also assume that any attempt by Dems to use the same powers will be met and defeated by the full force of their media apparatus and while that is true for some Dems, I’m not so sure it’s true for the kind of Dems this administration is going to produce (or AOC, particularly)

everything is so stupid and awful

Canceled Humanities Grants to Help Pay for Trump’s ‘Garden of Heroes’ The National Endowment for the Humanities, which supports museums and historical sites, will redirect funds to the president’s planned patriotic sculpture garden

every fucking coward who voted for rfk's confirmation should be publicly shamed every time they show their worthless faces. I don't think this level of fury is really productive in any way but I'm acknowledging it

The US already had good air defense, and it heavily involves Canada. North American air defense is integrated. No technological solution for alienating America's biggest neighbor and throwing away the trust, access, intel sharing, and forward positioning the mutually-beneficial alliance provided.

The most relevant piece of information here is the R which Senator Murkowski keeps next to her name. She and three other Senators could take full control of the government out of the hands of the organization she herself describes as using terror tactics.

Edgy creators: “People need to be reminded that the good guys don’t always win.” Me, watching the most vile people of my lifetime attain power and brag about their atrocities: “No, I think we get it.”

They said the same things 100 years ago and they’ll say the same things 100 years from now.

This makes me happy…
