Bondi put these documents out because she knew loyalist propagandists would lie about their contents. She also did some lying herself. This is simply inaccurate. There is one source alleging gang membership, and that source is a police informant, ie someone against whom there is evidence of a crime.

Confidential informants become informants in exchange for not facing prosecution for something else. So there is evidence that the informant committed a crime. The cop in question was indicted and pled guilty to a crime soon after he received this allegation in exchange for leniency.

He’s now for all practical purposes a hostage. Does the government always try to bring back hostages? They should, but no.
