It's striking how every "tech revolution" is overhyped both positively and negatively, sometimes by the same people. With nano, there were going to be nanobots for medicine and also the gray goo scenario. With "AI" there are self-driving cars* and the paperclip maximizer. (1/2)

Columnists have to keep doing harder and harder drug combos to come up with clickbait that keeps them employed. I'm guessing this was PCP and meth up the bum while doing hot knives of hash. I don't blame the writers, it's the editors who choose this to print. www.sfchronicle.com/opinion/open...

The identity politics centrists are already coming out in force. "Can't be a woman in 2028, it just can't. Not my fault, I like women and wish we could, but this is too important. We have to be strategic. So it can't be a black or gay guy or anything but a white male, preferably protestant." 🙄
