Actually there's a pikmin feed and just mentioning pikmin will get that post into that feed, it's been here since before BlueSky allowed me users without a code. Also hi I'm that weirdo that likes Pikmin a moderate amount. I just think it's cute, like Kirby, can't be upset while playing it :)

I’ve no qualms with Pikmin; my original post came from seeing how much Nintendo seems to promote it (such as in their new news app) compared to how little I actually see anyone online or IRL bring it up.

I’m cool with it, just never clicked with me.

I think that goes for a lot of games, it depends on your direct environment, your bubble of friends yknow? I know a lot of people who like Pikmin. But I know Monster Hunter is really popular and yet I don't really know anyone who is actually into it. So it kinda goes both ways.

I think Nintendo is marketing Pikmin a lot because Pikmin 4 spent a decade in development hell and the community really held their breath on whether it'd be good. The general consensus is that it's not perfect but still way better than most games caught in said dev hell.

A lot of fans are hoping this is a sign of Nintendo not abandoning them for another decade, since Metroid Dread killed it and now Prime 4 seems really, really close! So I understand their (cautious) optimism. I think that should about explain the marketing hype! c:
