I should’ve elaborated: How is it *pronounced*? I say “oof” but have recently heard some “uffs.” Is one wrong? Are they both right?

To further complicate it: my Norwegian grandparents (and as a result my entire extended family) pronounce it “oof” but any time they write it, they spell it ‘Uff Da’

Or maybe not. I am thinking way too deeply about this. If said in a standard Minnesota accent, it is uff, but if said in a Scandinavian "Fargo" type accent, it is oof. I swear I am done responding to this now.
