✡️ Tonight marks Yom Hashoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day. We remember the 6 million Jews slaughtered during the largest genocide in history. This is my great -aunt and her family, all murdered. May their memories be a blessing.

Beautiful family. Truly emphasizes the terrible tragedy and the horrible cost of the Holocaust. And the crucial importance of the Shoah - we must never forget - takes on even more importance in these times in our very own country.
Blessings and love to you and your family.
One of the most insightful and saddest books I've read was "The Good Old Days". It's a compilation of letters written by members of the Einsatsgruppen during world war two. Things like "we dispatched 400 Jews today, how is Margarette doing with her math?" show how ordinary people can be monsters.
I had an uncle (by marriage) that was put in a death camp for helping the Jews. He did survive, but his parents and all but one sibling perished. Uncle Tony told us stories, and I remember the tattoo on his arm. We must NEVER forget. And must never allow it to happen again anywhere.
