btw do not switch to brave, the ceo (brendan eich) is openly homophobic and donated money to hate campaigns against queer people. he also has personal interest in destroying mozilla due to being kicked out from there

I had a "creator profile" or w/e it's called with them to earn revenue, learned about his hate campaigns, and dropped out/stopped supporting them immediately

1. edge is run by Microsoft (data thieves, war criminals)
2. chrome run by Google (data thieves, war criminals)
3. Firefox now also apparently being run by data thieves and weirdly controlling now?
just wanna use a browser without giving anyone my data/support lol
or did smth else more egregious happen that I'm not aware of
but FOSS development is a collaborative endeavour, and building a safe space for ppl to collaborate in w/o conflict is a very important part of it ···
there was also a similar one in serenityos, maybe you're thinking of that one?
It was also in their contributing docs: https://github.com/LadybirdBrowser/ladybird/commit/6b32b775bfab60f4286ba49f96c3e7419d42062e (tho looks like they removed it since, good)
Instead, the current version has this
I mean everything paints a pretty consistent picture, doesn't it?
And this is without even taking that same dev's actions in serenityos into account, which are also consistent with this
legal documents should not have always inapplicable terms & vague statements, they really need to fix them
the real meme is that there were already issues with their privacy policy, but it's still better than the other mainstream browsers in this respect imo
which I found poorly done tbh
can I ask what you’re wanting to/have moved to?
it's one of the main reasons I chose FF over brave years ago (sorry wukko i know it makes your dev work harder :p)
unrelated but what do you think of vivaldi, if anything?
I don't even use everything lmao like the email client (think Thunderbird or Seamonkey)
- UI customization (beyond userchrome.css)
- Customizable keybindings
- Spotlight-esque search bar if I forgor a shortcut/command
- Tab organization
The downloads sidebar is nice too, great to have cloud sync and (local) profiles
I can't remember when I even used a site I embedded in the sidebar. I do gotta use the RSS reader feature more though so I can disconnect from social media a bit more
