Big Law has failed to stand up to Trump and now infosec is following suit.

Yesterday the Trump administration took aim at @thekrebscycle.bsky.social and @sentinelone.com over Trump's longstanding beef with Krebs saying the 2020 election was legitimate. So @raphae.li asked more than 30 major cybersecurity firms and trade groups what they had to say. Here's how it went:

Amazingly they're even bigger cowards than biglaw. At least /some/ biglaw firms pushed back. Infosec? Nope. Everyone too busy checking virustotal to watch the government try and forcibly remove their coworkers from their seats.

Instead and unfortunately some are doing the opposite. I’m seeing cybersecurity firms (at least one former employer) cheerleading Trump because of the EO to grease the wheels of the defense acquisitions process. They’re bending the knee because they want that DoD contracts money.

Seems to me the people in the cyber industry, much moreso than Big Law, could use their skills to effect good—or at least mitigate harm—in relation to the Regime. This would be especially true in regard to Musk's goon platoons. It would necessarily have to be done quietly.

of technology

I’m simply aghast at the lack of backbone shown by every facet; private industry, financial institutions, big law, public officials, elected officials, the fucking media…all allowing one man to burn the house to the ground.
