I just assume at this point that any electronic communications are not secure. If I wanted something secret I'm convinced it should be literally handwritten notes (if they're later destroyed) or verbal.

I think this is most likely am organizational problem rather than a knowledge issue--huge gap between knowing an abstract solution and putting it into action in general, but never more than when working in a horizontal, democratic structure. As you said, a bit hard to imagine NONE of them know that.

From an OPSEC standpoint, this is a mixed bag: the organizers' plans are now public, but their identities (depending on how wisely they chose their Signal handles/codenames) appear to still be private.
