It is just so bizarre to me that people don’t understand that no one is interested in a saint. These artists/writers have such an impact on people BECAUSE they are human, not in spite of their humanity.

...we all had a good guess from Prince's own movie PURPLE RAIN that he was an abuser. Prince's character's dad hits his mom. Prince's character hits his girlfriend. It's presented as context to "When Doves Cry" ("maybe I'm just like my father...") I love the music, but how is this surprising?
