People need to keep replying and encouraging artists over there, helping them to onboard with hashtags/mod tools/feeds to follow and more.
When I can't find artists I follow on here, I compliment their work then curiously ask if they have one and help them out if they don't but is curious.
I think the problem is numbers and reach, here things depend much more on reposts that many people don't do since Discover and other tabs to search aren't that good, but it could be just my impression since I repost a lot.
I legit believe people are way off about how much X actually contributes to their bottom line, if they already have a following & are on multiple sites. I wish there was a way for them to see the numbers!
I'm on multiple

Activism isn't about looking good it's about actual tangible impact and boycotting Twitter isn't one of those things that actually works out. You're... kind of being classist in your attempt to be morally higher and it's what ironic about these kind of sentiments
I have been posting art exclusively here and it hasn’t affected me in the slightest even though I’m still FAR from the following I had on Twitter
Hell, I have been earning more lately
People don’t realize how better it is here without twitter’s trash algorithm
As i tell everyone, how can you not main it when you dont get any interaction or engagement here. I've got to pay rent. Would you rather I go homeless?
if being present on one social media site is the sole reason you can pay rent, i highly recommend diversifying your engagement channels to lower your risk of getting absolutely fucked when twitter inevitably becomes unusable for artists
I do, but it doesnt do anything for me. you think i *want* to rely on twitter? course not, its just out of everything ive tried its the only one that gets me income.
Possibly. I'm in no position to cut any potential income with a cross country move happening this month. I've altered HOW I interact there, but have yet to find a net zero alternative.
Not a dig, not a jab: if you genuinely DO find info on any of this in metrics I would love to see it cus I'm a data goob and that might settle my anxious (and broke) soul. Wanna leave, feel like that's bad for biz. Anything to encourage me otherwise? Very welcome info.
I'd also love to hear about the personal experiences of furry artists who stopped using the Hitler App and how much it affected their Patreon and commission flow.
Been slowly switching to only using it for promotion + talking about this place. But even the promotion/teaser stuff feels gross to do ngl (also bc X hates anything with links, text blabla).
This is like 2014 tumblr lever of political perception. Rule #1 of activism is to not chastise the working class for surviving especially in this economy. Moving platforms is a luxury and a garnish compared to other tangible steps
It's a source of income for him. Shareholders see people leaving en mass, he gets less money from it, and the only language these monsters speak is money.
I understand your point and using The Nazi App is obviously not fucking great but your dismissive tone of people that are legitimately concerned about their income when most artists live basically week to week is a little callous.
jokes aside, i understand that money speaks, tho i believe income attributed to twitter is overestimated. if anything i wish artists would stop treating x as their main, only keep a necessary presence there, while nudging their audience towards another channel
I just feel like dunking on people online for not making The Right Choice instead of encouraging people by offering them a boost with your own platform (because I'm seeing a lot of people say they moved and are not getting traction) would be far more helpful.
Or worse, hobbyists who don't care about how much they make from art (if any at all) actively being assholes to others and saying "wow unwilling to risk a little cash so you support a nazi instead" is such a disingenuous stance to take, come on.

People are acting like you said "If you so much as touch twitter, you're part of the problem", which would be ridiculous.
But using it as your primary (or in many cases ONLY) platform sucks.

A depressingly large number of artists don't even post anywhere other than twitter, let alone main other sites.

Twitter only panders to Nazis now.
If youre like, a tiktok type person with 10 second skits, probably decent
But my work is longer-form videos and I am unable to post anything that is bigger than 50 megs and over a minute
hopefully this site changes that one day
do not feed fascist social media
