It would seem that every time Canada or any country counts on the US to be a good faith partner, they should keep in mind it only takes one election cycle for Americans to be duped by narrow interests or to even wittingly bring in someone who will 100% sink the knife right into their back 🤷🏻♂️
Sure but you know that if Canada or Mexico had teamed up with Russia during the Cold War things would have gone one way. That’s geo political realism full stop.
In hindsight the lesson here is never decommission your nuclear arsenal. Unfortunately a ramping up of nukes seems likely all over again.
