Stores often work on a 60-day window for big seasonal promos. That's why you start seeing all the back-to-school crap in July. It's the same for Christmas (60 days out is around Oct 25). So it gives us this weird overlap of Halloween clearance, thanksgiving sale, and Christmas right around now.
