Earth’s age is pretty well understood through findings in our geologic record, now you could definitely be correct that previous ancient civilizations have existed, in fact a theory has evolved that “aliens” are nothing more than previous civilizations that learned to bend space and time.
The hubris of the human race never ceases to amaze me. Just cause we can't replicate some of the things they did in ancient times it was aliens. If they would actually teach real history most of this wouldn't have been lost.
I do think we need to do more to combat global warming. But this does not change the fact that in Australia there are 48 million kangaroos and in Uruguay there are 3,457,380 inhabitants. So if the kangaroos decide to invade Uruguay, each Uruguayan will have to fight 14 kangaroos.
yes! because of how historical, especially ANCIENT historical artefacts are lost to tourism damage, ecological changes, robbery there are countless historical societies, particularly indigenous ones who are or will be lost to time :(
There's so much we don't know but are just starting to glimpse. Modern humans, Denisovans, and Neanderthal were all walking around at the same time swapping genetic material. Back in the day we were banging a completely different species.
It makes me feel a little dirty but not in a bad way...
I could see a cretaceous ruled by some warm blooded reptilian empire, hunting massive oily boneless sea creatures starting their own global warming event, then using an asteroid to cool the earth only to also force themselves into extinction.
The fossil record is incomplete—less than 0.01% of species that ever lived are known, since fossilization is rare and geological forces destroy evidence. It’s likely entire civilizations are missing from history due to decay, natural disasters, or being buried or underwater. Atlantis is real!
Hell, there are countless civilizations we do know existed but know NOTHING about! We just guess at half of what we do have. Its a good reminder to everyone, Petra had heated bath houses on the top of a mountain and functioning, running water. In a desert. History is so cool.
We know how old the earth is because: science. Unlikely there are civilisations that “we” (ie. archaeologists, historians) don’t know about because we would have found the clues by now. BUT there are civilisations that have been lost because they were wiped out. Eg. Etruscans.
NGL, you just brought out my inner nerd 😂
You're so correct though. So many civilizations are gone and never to be restored. Love the History channel by the way. Don't think there's an ep that I haven't watched about Ancient Cities.
I was explaining to my son the other day, if a catastrophic event was to occur, barely anything from our modern world would survive 10,000 years into the future. Nature would consume it all and we'd become a cosmic memory. Large cities might have something to show, but small towns like ours...
I don’t think that’s new news. I honestly thought everyone understood this. I also think there’s a lot more going on beneath our oceans. It never made sense to spend so much money and time on space when we’ve only discovered around 5% of our seas.
Light years is a great example. The light we're seeing from faraway stars is billions of years old. Those stars might not even be there anymore. Also: why would any advanced civilization acknowledge us? We're basic af.
I believe that. They estimate earth’s age to be in the billions. There’s probably plenty of former civilizations buried in the sea that we haven’t even heard of. A lot of ocean that we’ve yet to find.
Totally. When u calculate how many 3,000,000 year blocks there are since they said the planet formed.. that's over 1500 possible do overs of civilizations that you and I will never ever know about!!! And that's just earth. I ❤️ science
All creatures and living being born on earth is native to earth. Therefore, the "aliens" were supposedly found in the ocean. Are earth natural creatures. ✨️ beings living on planets in space are considered Alien 👽 we're Alien Superstars
We know how old the Earth is because science. That said, we're discovering more and more about who was living where a very long time ago. New Mayan cities were just discovered in southern Mexico. Science and technology are relatively recent tools in our history. We'll never stop finding out stuff.

That would be cool, right?
(see some of you at Thanksgiving)
Hey, beautiful talented woman 👋🏽
This sounds like one of their conversations.

there were probably civilizations before there were homo sapiens, which is truly wild to think about.
