If you follow photographers, but aren't one yourself, what do you want out of the caption (text part of the post) that accompanies a photo on Bluesky? I feel like Alt text is a good place for a descriptive, objective summary of the image, but sometimes I'm not sure what to say about a photo...
I’m a strictly amateur photographer but if the shot is of something that’s clearly a particular place, an ID of the place/feature is appreciated. This one I know (and have photographed), but nice shot nonetheless. Like the light and composition.
...I recently took and want to share that has no newsworthy/educational "reason" to get posted to Bluesky other than filling your feed with something that, hopefully, looks cool.
There are plenty of times I have a backstory, or a message, or even a question to accompany a photo separate from the alt text, but other times, I just don'e have much to say.
I feel you here. I try to describe (caption) photos best I can in the regular post. I will use alt text if I have multiple photos that require info. I've gotten better over the years at captions because freelancing for news they need whatever you can give them.
Yeah, it's tough. It's easy when I have a photo I shot in the moment of something interesting. Like a lightning bolt during that day's storm or a view from a roof with a story to go with hit. But sometimes I just want to post photos for posting sake because I have SO many
