These scallop eyes are just the thing I needed this morning - small little gems of evolution. If this scallop can sense some light in the world, I should arrive for the same.

Another of my shots of a bay scallop (Argopecten irradians) this one was a temporary guest in my Long Island Sound aquarium - about 1.25" diameter. Used a super macro lens to get real close up on the eyes and the wing.
