Growing up in rural Oklahoma in the 50s and 60s most folks called their refrigerators Frigidaires because that was the most common brand sold in our area when folks quit using ice boxes. Long time ago.
Way back in the 1960s when my mom and dad were earning graduate degrees, we had an upstairs neighbor who was from South Carolina. He was a delightfully wonderful man with a great sense of humor.
He called it a
"Fridge-Ah-day-uh."
That was the brand of the little half fridge in our apartments.
I'm more bothered by people who say "libary" or who are critical of poor grammar when they themselves don't use basic punctuation or proper capitalization...
