I think the best gift they could give Pete is having him hit behind Soto - it'll give him the most opportunities to hit good pitches in important spots.

Agree, plus Lindor & Soto are threats on the bases, which should lead to some pitcher mistakes. We can have a good L/R mix. Maybe:

Nimmo LF L
Vientos 3B R
DH Winker L/Marte R
McNeil 2B L
Alvarez C R
Taylor CF R

McNeil & Alvarez need to have bounce back years.

But I think it doesn't matter who hit behind soto
Because the bottom of the lineup is a problem imo no real power or run producers

I have my eye on McNeil. A great contact hitter who won the batting title & Silver Slugger in '22. Trying to make him a power hitter + the rule changes on infield positioning hurt him in '23. When he finally got it going last year, Williamson broke his wrist & he was out until the NLCS. Rebound.
