Anyone who thinks "America" needs "Jesus" has never read the Constitution or the Bible. The notion of a "Christian government" is as heretical as it is unconstitutional.

My dad was a conserv Protestant pastor/elder and Bible scholar with a degree from Biola. He vehemently opposed "pulpit politics" and taught us that separation of Church and State was vital to the integrity of both. (And he would've despised Trump, almost as much as my mom does!)
I showed my wife this when she said she chose the Republican Party to vote for. My response internally was anger. I was a partner at a church before I met her. Loving Jesus is helping people. The book of Acts even describes how to help others. How to love others

Does anyone support either of these? What’s the difference?
Right on! I’m a Christian, but freedom of religion is a personal choice. Any denial of this is prejudicial. Just as using religion to be hypocritical…which is defining our incoming administration.
I had an argument last year with my Maga mother that said this country was founded on Christianity and we needed to return to norms. She gave me a book on history to prove it. The forward was written by Mike Huckabee. You can't reason with these people.
As a Christian
I agree Christians need Jesus..many of them have stopped being like Jesus..they talk about saving souls when their own has been taken hostage by dt cult
It has made it hard for those of us who truly want to help
those who are in need be it food, shelter, or compassion etc

Thank you. People didn’t come to America for religious freedom. They fled for their lives from what Christian Nationalists want to make America. The 100 Years War and the other religions are what we fear.
And I thought common sense retired. You nailed it with this post. As a Canadian one of the only positives regarding our countries politics is “there is much less religious influence.”

I lean closer to belief of Lucius Annaeus Seneca…

The reasoning is unambiguous.

It feels like they're injecting this narrative like novocaine until it becomes "numbly" accepted.
