This is far from new. A couple of decades ago Canterbury disestablished posts in the Department of Religious Studies and one of my best mates disappeared to Stanford, where he still is. It’s been a thousand cuts, with racism included, until the slash and burn of now.

Oh I know, but departments have been disestablished all over the place, I did my Masters in Design at Otago then it was disestablished. But what we are about to witness over the next year we have never seen the likes of before. It's truly disturbing.

With every department across every university in NZ having 'trimmed the fat' continuously for the past 5+ years (Yes LABOUR YOU FELLAS SUCK AT THIS TOO), all that is left is for entire programmes to be disestablished across NZ's tertiary learning institutions.

We are literally dumbing down NZ.
