There are various forms of these pyramid schematics, all showing how “it’s just a joke” leads and opens the door to increasing levels of harm, in many forms. Seymour (and all of ACT) are a stain on Aotearoa. #nzpol

Look at my gorgeous beanie that just arrived from the Buy a Brainy Beany fundraiser. It was really hard to choose but I wanted one that I don’t have the skill to make myself, and I definitely couldn’t have made this! Still lots to choose from, see link below. H/t @parrykylie.bsky.social

Some pretty cruddy Covid variant news for Aotearoa: we’re in midst of a ‘Nimbus’ wave but it’s being outdone by newer ‘XFG’ variant overseas so we may likely have a long, double-wave of Covid now after a long period of few infections (winter indoor air won’t help either!) 😭

a ruthless predator, alligators will sometimes use jazz hands to lure musical theatre people to their deaths

This is at the core of everything this govt does. “Ker said the fundamental problem was everyone wanted a polytechnic system but nobody wanted to pay for it, least of all the government.”

Yesterday and today our eldest wanted us to meet a few of her new friends from uni. We took them to lunch with us and they seem like genuinely great young people. This avo she showed her younger siblings around and they had a great time. Feels like a young adulting AND parenting milestone. 😊

Ok Ōtepoti, catching the afternoon crowd. We’re probably a group of 5-7.

Kia ora @kelsy.co.nz @eddie.co.nz @rossthesedays.bsky.social @oldmatecans.lol 👋 Just passing through 🙂

Ōtepoti can I please have your recommendations for cafes with good outdoor seating?

I’ve just finished Pernille (in NZ on Netflix). It’s incredible. Kind, honest, sad, heartbreaking, hopeful, full of love. This is the good stuff.

Instead of Principals clutching pearls about schoolboy rugby, thinking that deserves a complaint to the Human Rights Commission, how about Principals get real about their responsibility for H&S? If I thought it’d make a difference I’d lay complaint about their failure to keep kids safe from covid.

If I had a gen ai resource website that got thousands of schools to sign up .. I would be sitting on a gold mine of information. I’d know what educators were asking for : by subject, level and geo location. I could then go to the government, who I already partner with, and tell them all about it.

This is how NZ schools are able to offer extracurricular activities. Teachers are just expected to run one (or more) in their own time. For no extra pay. My kids’ school offers a truly incredible range of clubs, teams, activities. I always thank the teachers involved. I wish they were paid for it.

I would like any serious journalist at RNZ or OneNews to question Chris Luxon about whether he subscribes to and end-times dogma and whether that influences his inaction on Israel.

I need the name of a good defamation barrister. Shit got real.

I hate to break it to David Seymour, but dead kids & kids disabled by covid infections have a lot harder time catching up on school than kids who had to go through lock-downs and distance learning. Oh, and like many viral illnesses, COVID doesn't just disappear when it's convenient for you. #nzpol
