I don’t know if there is a way but when you link it to you BSky account it posts two both places
So I can’t exactly dedicate flashes to my baking and cooking because it shows the pictures I’ve already taken on here which are naughty

Correct. Just think of one account as Twitter, and another as Instagram. Just make sure you use the portfolio feature to highlight only photos you want on your profile, leaving the text posts or memes out of it.

I’ll have my SFW account on there, as it allows for a Portfolio feature that IG never offered, and as a photographer, that might be the best thing I’ve ever heard of. Might just keep the NSFW stuff here only.

Ohhh I see. On the one hand I think, “why is that necessary when you can post pictures on here?” But I guess it’s like Facebook vs Instagram, even though Bluesky is kind of more akin to twitter…and I’m overthinking it 😀

Um, I don’t really find it useful at the moment. There are for sure a few UI tweaks but it’s this weird in between. Like I could just use my regular account there or I could make an alt with the intent of it being photo based.

They’ve said they’re working on making a filter that only shows posts that originate in one app or the other but it wasn’t live last time I played around in the app.

I, personally, will change over given the only reason I’m even staying on Instagram is for the photos and reels. If there’s an alternative that’s not supporting Meta, I’m all for it.

The beauty of it is: with ATProto (the protocol / technique Bluesky is built on) no one owns your data but you. You can easily host your data from your private server or pull it from the network when you want to leave. There is no lock in like there was with other networks.
