For us small countries, the objective and the primary mission of even having defense forces is not to _win_ wars.

It is to avoid having to fight in the first place.

That primary mission is now at a serious risk.

But undoubtedly we will make arrangements of our own, if Europe dithers once again.

This is totally logical for all the small to middling sized states that are targets for great power aggression. I worried about the message we (US) were sending by invading Iraq, while leaving NK alone. The invasion of Ukraine and now our desertion of NATO leaves countries like yours no choice.
