I keep getting ads for paint-by-number kits. It’s like the algorithms know I need to be creative but right now I don’t have the capacity to come up with my own ideas. I feel seen.

I'm a big Happy Color App fan. I bought the ad free version for i don't know $5 in early 2020. I probably have hundreds of hours in it. I've always been terrible at choosing colors myself!
There are crochet patterns that vary in difficulty and attention required - the feel of the yarn through your fingers, the steady repetition of the hook, and the visible progress are all quite rewarding.
And, if you don’t like it, just unravel and start something else.
@natsechobbyist.bsky.social some of them are actually pretty good, albeit intense. Choose a photo you love, send it off, and thru send you back a numbered canvas and hundreds of colors.
I used to do some watercolor and drawing. Haven’t had the energy to drag the supplies out. Asked one daughter for a sophisticated “how to paint flowers kit” for Christmas. Hope it jumpstarts the creative juices.
They are such a life giver in that way. I was super into them during the pandemic and now have walls covered in art- you can find surprisingly beautiful and classy kits!
I bought some paint by number kits based on pictures of our dog. They turned out amazing, and the paintings are so precious to us now that we have lost our fur baby 😢
I have the creativity but a paralysis of which idea to try. I have pulled out far too many craft supplies, making a cluttered mess in my attempt to make a damn decision
I have one. Thanks to a post from @chrissyteigen.bsky.social the Paint Like Frida Amalfi 🍋 . I just started. I am hoping the paint still not dry out before I can accomplish it. It’s beautiful beautifully packaged and would make a really nice gift.
You can use stuff to reconstitute them. I can't remember the name. You can google it. Some people use a little water as well. You can also get a cool box of acrylics in all sorts of colors and kind of fudge it if one does get wrecked.
For a while on FB I was getting ads for things like artisan-crafted sextants, sundials, compasses, etc. I've never expressed any interest in whaling but that's the vibe I was getting from this stuff.

I may hand paint (airbrush?) the next one and/or add some depth with layers.
My current zen and fascination, ties into several other zens.
And, if you don’t like it, just unravel and start something else.
Big, bold print. As my eyesight continues heading south I think I begin to understand why.
Erase the numbers.
Evaluate scene.
Insert into recycle bin.
Creative, no?
