Seems Musky just realized ATC is a highly specialized profession that requires a year of training before you're even allowed in the tower, let alone do any real controlling, and that he can't just put his works into the jobs without killing a lot of people.

Air Traffic Controllers are REQUIRED by law to retire at age 56. That's in recognition of the extreme stress levels of the job and the fast reaction times necessary to do it well. Is Elon planning to ignore the law and put septigenarians back in those towers?

Retirees returning to be air traffic controllers will find that their advanced age makes it so much easier to see and hear. And neither procedures nor technology have changed.

There will be much less stress this time around. And don't worry, the planes will wait while controllers go pee again.
