Agree. The strategy is reprehensible but makes sense given the game show host thing. Get enough people to believe that once you get in, you can give them exactly what they want, lean on that explicit campaign promise. Of course, we prefer the “what” to be schools & health, not freedom to do crimes.

Yeah that is very telling, along with the other 20+ republicans who were “very concerned for America” in the immediate days following, and eventually fell in line.
