Not to pick a fight—I agree with a lot of what you say—but several observers say that the 2008 financial crisis was most directly caused by the the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act of 1999, repealing the Glass-Steagall Act, signed by Bill Clinton. So the 2008 economic collapse may have been unavoidable.

Reaganomics proposed that decreases in taxes, especially for corporations, would stimulate economic growth. The savings would then “trickle down” to the rest of the economy, spurring overall growth, if the expenses of corporations were reduced.

Yes, Reagan was responsible for the bigger picture. His administration encouraged massive mergers till they created near-monopolies. Reagan’s influence probably inspired the GOP to repeal Glass-Steagall in the first place. My point: Even without GWB, the 2008 economic crisis may still have happened.
