Sad that shortly, stupid adults are going to make her feel less than all the boys and potentially destroy her love of sports by simply dragging women non stop. And the little boys will hear it and learn it and propagate it as adults.
Yeah, I don’t raise her to put up with that nonsense. She’s already primed to stick up for herself if someone says she “can’t do something because she’s a girl.” We don’t appreciate that type of thinking around these parts. Different people do different things differently. That doesn’t mean “can’t.”
My daughter ultimately excelled in soccer before a pair of concussions ended her career in high school, but she also batted leadoff for her middle-school softball team. Your daughter's swing is as sweet as hers!
It was a great hit. They will find it. Their own talent I mean. My youngest found fencing through an after School community Ed program. Now she's at a fencing club.
My son had natural talent and build for the offensive line he played through 8th grade, but his heart was with band, and theater.
Just gotta let the kids try their best and let those skills, experiences, and successful moments marinate. I’m extremely positive on the field for ALL the kids (even the ones on the other team). It’s the only way we can be the best coaches we can be!
oh yeah, especially at that age. A quote I live by as a coach "If the coach is a 'shouter', it's time for a new team; if you're the coach, it's time to retire."
Dude, I'm about to have a little girl like literally any day at this point and I am so excited for her to be old enough to get out on the field. I played half of my life all the way through high school and tried out for college. We're a baseball household
It's both gratifying and like...profoundly sad. I don't ever want to see my kid leave me, but that's the way it goes, right? I like her and I love her. She's one of my best pals!
For real, I was SO bad a baseball as a kid. And my coaches were kinda mean. I’m falling in love with the sport again through my daughter’s experience with it. It’s a great way to rewrite my memories about baseball, but it’s even better to watch her thrive!
Gotta say, love the positivity in this thread, but there are a couple of bozos who very obviously hate joy/are bots. Remember. Bluesky has block. If you don’t want to see it on your feed, block and keep it movin’!
Hahaha. I’ll ask her. I think one of the requirements to play on the orioles is that you have to lose all your baby teeth first, but I could be wrong! 😂
It’s late and, my vision being blurry, I at first thought I was looking at a post by Chuck Schumer and was feeling pretty snotty about how young “his” daughter was.
Relieved to be able to like your post.
I mostly remember my son getting hit by the ball directly in the nose - blood everywhere and my daughter getting hit by the ball while running the bases. lol
Hahaha, ooooof. Well, I hope your kids are doing well these days. The balls used are pretty spongy, so I don’t think it’s likely that any of these kids would get injured from getting knocked by a ball (unless if it was a line drive to the dome!)
I don’t share anything about her that often because it’s her life. It’s not really my experience to share, but…I asked her and she said she was cool with me posting. She turned 6 today (technically yesterday as of right now) and I wanted to show my support for her!
She can hit! She’s also quite fast. The other day, she caught the ball and “tagged a kid out” at first. There aren’t any real outs or score keeping at this level, it’s really just games for the sake of running drills, but it was a great moment! Lots of kids on her team are stepping up, too!
My great-nephew is on a T-ball team, and their top two players are girls! I live co-ed sports at this age, because we just didn't have it when I grew up. I had to watch my little brother play Little League knowing I was a much better batter than him!!
I had a saying when my boys were small. "You have kids so can laugh at them". Not in a critical or nasty way. You know for sure they will do crazy stuff. Don't be embarrassed, just laugh, hopefully get a video, and then remind them about it when they grow up!
I think the laughter that I experience is joyful laughter. I'm always laughing with my kid. She's super funny. This moment had me all teary-eyed on the baseline to first.
When one of my boys got his first hit in t-ball, he ran towards the mound. No idea why. I guess he just didn't want to take the long way around all 4 bases.
My 4 YR old grandson had a t-ball game today. As he ran around the bases and reached home, he jumped on the base then laid down in the dirt and pretended to slide because that is what he saw the night before at a pro game😜
Hahaha! Good for him!!! That’s really great, I love seeing enthusiasm like that. We have this one kid on the team that has such a fierce game face. It’s both goofy and dead serious. He’s gonna be a great player someday!
I think she’s gonna stick with it. Hoping she gets into an art, too. My wife and I want her to play one sport and focus on one art (though she can explore whatever she wishes!) She’s a great kid with really good focus for her age!
Yeah, I’m hoping she sticks with it and ports over to the softball team when she hits third grade in a few years. She’s wrapping up kindergarten now, so we got some time to increase her skillset on the field!
I have no idea about the rule of this sport (I guess it’s baseball ?), but she looks awesome and she looks having a tone of fun! Congrats to the parents and to her!

1) whatever the fuck she wants.
2) implementing maximum snark.
But those old LL days were so much fun. Such great memories.
Treasure every moment.

Congratulations!
I went through mine and wished I had more.
I could do better fr
I love how she holds the helmet a good amount of the time she is running
