I seem to get the most followers from either utterly stupid shitposts or ultra serious and depressing threads about LGBTQ topics, and the tonal whiplash I must give both camps of new followers must be something

My feed goes cat, art, dumb political crap, art, art, glorification of violence, cat, cat, more LGBT crap I don't want to see, cat cat...
Bruh, I don't want political crap. I just want stuff related to the people I follow.
Try being an NSFW creator with a strong social justice and philosophical core, who comments on SFW posts all the time. "Oh look! Another pastor/journalist/person with political aspirations is following me now." And I wonder how much of my massively NSFW feed they're actually seeing. 😈
Wish I got followers from shitposts, however I'm completely unfunny and my attempts at humor are genuinely uncomfortable for most people. So it's exclusively "real shit" that gets people to click.
And I sit down and listen, because I'm a fan of jokes and learning more about our world. Like the cannibal snails in the world that hunt smaller sea snails when the tide goes out. It's a snail-eat-snail world out there, you gotta sea it to believe it.
I can't recall for sure, but I think I followed you either just after or slightly before Hbomb's Donkey Kong stream, so serious LGBTQ topics and also very silly nonsense were already happening at the same time.
I think in my case it may have been both. IMO you have great, well-considered takes without being preachy. You were a voice I really needed to hear when I finally started to transition.
There are sooo many accounts out there that only seem to exist for the purpose of generating "follows". They follow everything in sight yet hardly interact with anything. Some do nothing but gather names, others repost stock material only to give the impression of life.
In some cases it feels like the advertising bot accounts are more lifelike, if for no other reason than the fact they have a clear purpose and routinely pitch their wares. YES, WEED-MEN, I KNOW. YES MUSHROOM DUDES, I KNOW.
But these others? It's really made "Dead Internet Theory" come to "life".

Stay for the tonal whiplash
I'm pretty sure it's the norm in the queer community. In fact, if you were only ever focused on one, I would start to get concerned!
I have strict moderation about what days I can have a drink on, so I aim to make it count!
JUST GOTTA PUT ON THE NECK BRACE AND BUCKLE UP
- Cried because of a life-affirming novel for trans people
- Soul-meltingly horny robotfuckers
- heehee funny post
I always wonder how people who aren’t in the overlap feel about the rest of the venn diagram :p
"Yeah, we're here for both"
