Sony fucked up so badly gambling everything to chase the live service gravy train, and it's especially frustrating with Bend Studio because good god why didn't they just let them cook with a Days Gone 2 or a new Siphon Filter?

Anyone with a brain knows this isn't true. But who ever accused the corpo-rats and their worshipers of having brains?
I know it was always more of a fluke of scheduling: they just didn't have available studios to chase the trend at its peak. They could have just rolled with it. The trend already peaked by the time they went all in.
Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo ALL have obnoxious defenders that excuse what each of them do
But Sony is more like Nintendo than Microsoft in that they are conspicuously absent from diatribes about all-consuming corporations.
oooh yeah they're gunshy at this point.
Just make one or two. If you're not going to innovate with, like, a live service Jumping Flash and stick to Character Shooters and the like, why try to make so many?
