In case you were wondering, the 2-year running mean for the global surface temperature anomaly is currently at 1.57°C above the 1850-1900 IPCC pre-industrial baseline.

World wars decarbonize and improve land use. It's peace and democracy where and when the major consumption that leads to collapse takes place? I am not sure what counts as good and bad news these days?
And the feedback effects are only just starting to kick in. So we ca say that atleast the next 20 years temp will increase. What we can reverse or what we cant has become more and more uncertain.. And still no action..
So we are living through the collapse as in the "Asimov Foundation" books. There is nothing we can do to stop it. But can we plan a new beginning to at least reduce the amount of suffering?
It is not a linear increase, it is an exponential one - fueled by further increasing CO2e emissions from humans + "natural" CO2e emissions, triggered by recent temperature increases, by massively increasing forest fires and failing ecosystems & CO2 uptake in oceans & forests.
We fucked up!
Because, as Hansen asserts in his latest paper, there is evidence that not only is temperature increase accelerating, we are accelerating at an ever faster rate. In other words we are pressing down harder on the gas pedal. Constant acceleration is parabolic. Increasing acceleration is cubic.
I have read that the rate of change of temperature is increasing, but that just means we expect temperature vs time to be function that increases faster than a quadratic. It doesn't necessarily mean it's cubic.
No one can.

Even I thought maybe we'd hit 1.45 or something in 2025, but looks like it's full steam ahead.

In fact.
it's recommended globally.
🚨 Physics is in the dumpster🗑️to get that high.
Although.
Apparently recycling ♻️ is the answer.
