This really irritates me. The man is a known criminal, he doesn't live in the area he's being elected in. He's just sticking 2 fingers up to the authorities. He's not going to improve a single thing for the people who wasted a vote on him.
I actually forgot he was running until I seen his mallet on the ballot paper yesterday . Was a bit surreal and bizarre . I almost laughed out loud in the voting booth !

Not a Monk supporter by any means but it seems too broad. For some crimes maybe but it would basically deny the fundamental claim at rehabilitation.
If voters want a convicted criminal isn't that on the voters?
Is it someone who robbed, killed, tortured etc. to fund their campaigns or committed what I would term treason against this state?
Or why bother releasing prisoners when the sentence is complete?
Again, if people want to vote for that...
