Ichiro set a record that will never be broken and that should gain him automatic entry into the HOF. 262 hits in a single season is unreachable. He also has the 10th most hits in a season (242 in 2001) and only he, Darin Erstad ('00) and Wade Boggs ('85) have 240 hits since three guys did it in 1930
